My name is Martin Owen. I grew up in Campbell County, Virginia. I am a dedicated spring gobbler hunter and an avid duck and goose hunter. I am very fortunate to have good friends to share these experiences with. I also thank The Good Lord for giving me the many blessings that He provides for me and for keeping me safe every day while out on the water and in the fields.
The idea of the Skull Keeper Duck Strap was born out of pure necessity in the swamps of Virginia. With beaver channels and underwater logs everywhere and always being buzzed by an unexpected wood duck, I had to have a wading stick in one hand and my gun in the other. I didn't have enough hands to carry my ducks. Conventional duck straps still require 1 of 2 things: you hand carry the strap or put an even amount of ducks on each end to balance out so it will sit on your shoulder without falling off. I came up with another option. I sincerely believe that it's the best duck strap out there and I hope you will give it a try.
The Strut-No-More turkey tote was brought about due to hand and forearm fatigue that I experienced when I had to carry a gobbler a long distance before I reached the truck. My hand would get stiff having to grip the gobblers legs and I had to be careful of getting my fingers stuck by spurs. So, I came up with this wrist-sling design that puts the spurs above your hand AND eliminates the need for any gripping power since the birds weight is supported by the weight of your arm in the natural "over the shoulder" carrying position. And, unlike other leg holding totes, this one doesn't allow the bird to flop around on your back and it won't dig into your shoulder either. The tote also makes it easy to weigh a turkey on a hand held scale !
